Q - What is the daily average walking distance?

A - The distance made each day of the 8-9 day walking portion of the tour will be set by the group, and can be as leisurely or demanding as the group wishes.

Q - What should I bring with me?

A - Some recommended items include a sleeping bag, a small, all-purpose day-pack, a flashlight with batteries, sun block, a sun hat, and sunglasses.  Tents and rain-proof, insulated mats are optional, since they can be provided for you.

Q - What should I bring to wear?

A - You should bring with you light, comfortable walking clothes for temperatures of approximately 80 degrees.  You will also want to pack a sweater or jacket for the evenings, when temperatures fall to 45 degrees.  With regard to footwear, you will want to bring hiking boots or comfortable shoes.  Sandals are not advised.

Q - What kind of shape do I have to be in?

A - To enjoy this vacation, the only requirement is that you enjoy fresh air and light physical activity.

Q - What types of terrain will we cover?

A - On your journey, you will cover two different types of terrain.  The first consists of reasonably flat terrain, which is easily traveled upon by anyone who likes a good walk.  The second is a little more challenging, where some experience with hill walking may prove useful.  On average, we will reach heights of up to 11,500 feet.
